FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series Grows To 16 Events With Raceway 7 Addition; Expo Now $2,000 To-Win

Pulaski, PA…The FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series is pleased to announce it has added its 16th event of the 2009 season, which will be held Friday, July 3 at Raceway 7 near Conneaut, Ohio. Also, the previously announced event two days prior on Wednesday at Expo Speedway has been increased to $2,000 to-win, $200 to-start.

“We were really hoping to be able to secure an event at Raceway 7 this year,” explained Northeast Co-Director Vicki Emig. “Raceway 7 was one of the first tracks to announce its intention to go FASTRAK before the 2007 season. The Nielson Family has been tremendous supporters of FASTRAK and though they won’t be operating the track in 2009, it’s great that lessee Terry Adams will continue to run FASTRAK on a weekly basis and now has given us our record 16th Touring Series event, one that the drivers have really been requesting.”

These two announcements will now set up a big weekend around the Fourth of July starting off with the $2,000 to-win event at Expo on July 1. Last year’s show was tremendous with Bobby Powell holding off a furious challenge by Mike Pegher, Jr. in front of a huge crowd on the 5/8-mile oval.

Raceway 7 becomes the 10th different speedway on the 2009 Northeast Touring Series slate. Past winners at Raceway 7 include two wins by John Lacki (6/15/07 & 7/4/08) along with single wins by Dick Barton (5/25/07) and Pegher (7/25/08). Last year’s events drew 33 and 34 cars respectively.

The FASTRAK Northeast Region boasts nine weekly-sanctioned tracks for 2009 with Raceway 7, Dog Hollow Speedway, Arcade International Raceway, and Elkins Speedway on Friday nights, Mercer Raceway Park, McKean County Raceway, Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex, and Tyler County Speedway on Saturday nights, and Tri-City Speedway on Sunday nights.
