2011 FASTRAK Northeast Fan Guide & Driver Handbook Hot off the Presses JUST IN TIME for Memorial Day Weekend Events; Promotional Bundled Packages Offered!

May 24, 2011 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)…In conjunction with what is considered to be the biggest racing weekend annually in the nation, FASTRAK Northeast officials are excited to release the much anticipated 2011 FASTAK Northeast Fan Guide & Driver Handbook.
The 124-page publication, a first for the FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Series, is an encyclopedia of FASTRAK Northeast information beginning with the inception of the Series in the region in 2007 through current events completed just weeks earlier. It is produced by nationally-renowned Mitchell’s Speedway Press of Oswego, New York.
The Fan Guide & Driver Handbook has been designed to serve two important purposes. First, be an exciting and useful publication that will educate regional fans about the concept of FASTRAK and showcase the Series’ top Touring drivers along with many other weekly competitors. Second, be a useful tool for area FASTRAK racers to be aware of and contact vendors throughout the region that specialize in FASTRAK products and services.
“When we initially discussed the possibility of putting together a FASTRAK Northeast book, I never would have believed it would develop into the end product that it is,” stated fifth year Northeast Co-Director Vicki Emig. “As we began to gather information, it was amazing how much has happened with the FASTRAK Northeast Series over the past few years. It was very difficult to eliminate important aspects of our short history, while at the same time include as much current information as possible. In the end, we just threw up our hands and as my father always said, “If you’re going to do it, do it right!”
The book is jammed-packed with approximately 300 photos and includes eight full pages of high-gloss, beautiful color graphic pages, which are highlighted by a two-page color centerfold that includes 17 of the best Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC FASTRAK Northeast Touring drivers. Other color pages feature FASTRAK “Futures Cup Drivers,” Hard Rock Cafe Banquet photos, and montages of sanctioned speedway logos and 2011 color action shots. New York’s Jeff Heotzler, Jr. is credited with the design of the color pages and several area photographers are accredited with providing the photo content.
Each of the 2010 top 15 Northeast Touring drivers are featured in individual stories which include large specially-designed car and driver photo graphics also designed by Heotzler. Both Justin Kreider, the 2010 “Wheelman” Champion, and Billy Stile, Jr., the 2010 Western Pennsylvania Rookie-of-the-Year are highlighted in similar pages.
The publication also contains 13 uniquely designed full-page driver ads that were purchased by FASTRAK teams to thank their sponsors, families, and crews. The ads incorporate current photos of their cars in action at recent 2011 events. These ads were designed by Brett Miller Designs. Brett is the son of well-known sign painter and race car letterer, Ed Miller.
Approximately a dozen speedways’ schedules from the FASTRAK Northeast tracks are included along with a page featuring all FASTRAK Regional Hoosier Tire Distributor and Certified Engine Rebuilder contact information.
“We have to really thank the multiple businesses and individuals that stepped up to advertise and offer their support of this project,” explained fifth year Northeast Co-Director Mike Leone. “Without them this the publication would not have become a reality. It is our hope that race fans will thoroughly enjoy the FASTRAK Northeast Fan Guide and Driver Handbook. In the end we hope it succeeds in helping to market and promote the FASTRAK concept, along with our drivers and sanctioned speedways.”
The publication will be given free of charge to all drivers competing in a Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC FASTRAK Northeast and Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series event. They’ll be on sale for $10 to the general public beginning at this weekend’s events at Sharon and Lernerville Speedways and at all Touring Series events throughout the remainder of the 2011 season. They’ll also be on sale weekly at many of the FASTRAK weekly-sanctioned speedways.
Effective Memorial Day weekend, a package bundling the new FASTRAK Fan Guide and a FASTRAK Northeast t-shirt of choice will be offered to the fans for just $25 (a $30 value). Fans can also choose a package including a Fan Guide & hoodie for just $35 (a $40 value). With the soon to be released awesome FASTRAK Futures Cup-themed shirt and wild hot pink apparel, four different shirt designs will be available!
FASTRAK Northeast’s 2011 marketing partners include Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Original Pizza Logs, Bully Dog, Contingency Connection, Utsinger’s Towing, and Hoosier Tire.
